Our client, a major player in the Utilities sector have the need for an assistant/Quantity Surveyor to support water related projects in south wales which include residential water networks and installation of meters for these.

Daily duties will include cost reporting, chasing invoice payments, change, assisting procurement and management of sub contractor accounts.

To be considered you will have a minimum of an HND in Quantity Surveying and have a minimum of 2 years experience gained in Construction or Civil Engineering with Water ideal but not essential.

This role comes with a top rate and also hybrid working with 2/3 days from home each week.

Freelance Site Manager (Sewage Treatment)

My client are looking for a Site Manager on a Sewage Treatment Work in Dartford.
You will have responsibility for the safe, efficient delivery of projects.
Lead and promote a safe zero harm culture.
Promote industry leading behavioural culture.
Write RAMS, T&IPS, briefings, TBTs, NCRs, control permits and temporary works on site.
Manage Engineers and Supervisors.
Manage labour, plant and materials!
Manage customers and general public impacted by our works.
Developing and delivering Project Management Plans including environment, quality, safety, health, and wellbeing.
Build collaborative teams.
Manage specialist Subcontractors.
Follow and promote company initiatives and ensure we deliver safe, on time, efficient projects that delight our client and the customers.
Carry out site inductions, tool box talks and the coaching of staff in construction techniques, ensuring appropriate use of PPE.
Coordinate document control and design management for your project.
Ensure the timely close out of actions arising from internal and external audits.
Participate in investigations and continual improvement!

Skills and Knowledge Requirements :  You should be:

Degree/HND/HNC or equivalent in construction management or engineering
Experience of water or waste water infrastructure
Control of costs and value management
Schedule management
SMSTS
Temporary Works Supervisor
Health and Safety training or recognised certification such as NEBOSH or similar

Project Manager – Water

My client are currently looking to recruit a highly skilled Project Manager to oversee and coordinate multiple projects and improvement initiatives to support the delivery team in delivering an efficient, effective, and agile service provision to our key client Welsh Water.  The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating/chairing working groups and steering groups, and will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders to drive project success and exceed expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Project Planning and Execution:
Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budgeting, for multiple projects simultaneously.
Coordinate project activities, tasks, and deliverables to ensure timely execution and achievement of project objectives.
Implement effective project management methodologies and best practices to optimize project efficiency and effectiveness.

Stakeholder Management:
Foster positive relationships with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and team members to facilitate open communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
Address stakeholder concerns, requests, and feedback in a timely and professional manner to ensure alignment with project goals and expectations.
Capture clear and concise actions, ensuring they are completed in a timely manor along with any evidence required.

Risk Management:
Identify potential risks, issues, and dependencies that may impact project delivery or outcomes.
Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize project disruptions and ensure successful resolution of challenges as they arise.

Resource Management:
Allocate resources effectively and efficiently to support project objectives and priorities.
Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to secure necessary resources and equipment for project implementation.

Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare and deliver regular project status reports, updates, and presentations to stakeholders and senior management.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project plans, schedules, budgets, and change orders.

Skills, Experience and Knowledge Requirements 
Prince 2 project management principles qualification or similar.
Proven experience in project facilitation, management, and deployment
Demonstrated track record of successfully managing multiple projects concurrently, from initiation through to completion, within budget and schedule constraints.
Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera, Jira) and Microsoft Office suite.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
PMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus.

Site Agent

Due to the award of major projects for South West Water, our client, a market leader in the Utilities and Civil Engineering sectors are seeking to secure the services of a Site Agent to support these works which includes the installation, refurbishment and renewal of Pipelines, Mains and Sewers, Pumping Stations and associated Civils works including Deep Excavations with this being a 5-10 year framework so the opportunities are huge!

Supporting the Project Manager, you will be required to produce on site paperwork including RAMs and Task Briefings, Oversee Sub Contractors, Order Plant & Material and ensure the works are run Safely and to Budget.

To be considered for this, you will have a minimum of an HNC in Civil Engineering and hold CSCS, SMSTS, First Aid and ideally indate EUSR altough training can be provided for this if required. You MUST also have Water experience gained with reputable Main Contractors, this is essential for this role.
In return, a top day rate is on offer which is OUTSIDE IR35 and comes with an immediate start and long term contract.

Commercial Manager

Responsibilities

Commercial leadership of contract(s), ensuring all rights and obligations are fully understood.

Lead the development and implementation of the commercial strategy.

Lead, develop and mentor a team of commercial professionals, to support their career growth.

Develop budgets and cost controls, to ensure contracts meet financial and project objectives.

Ensure tenders, offers and contracts etc. are reviewed and appropriate terms are in place.

Lead cost value reconciliation processes.

Support the resolution of elevated disputes.

Ensure cash is managed effectively, minimising work in progress exposure (WIP).

Oversee that subcontracts are engaged at appropriate rates and on appropriate terms.

Provide sound advice and guidance on complex contracts.

You will have extensive commercial management experience, managing a range of complex contract arrangements within the utilities sector.

 

Significant management experience, with a proven track record of team development is essential, as are resourcefulness and the ability to work under pressure. Along with forward-thinking communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
