You will lead and manage the IT team, ensuring effective resource utilisation and fostering continuous improvement.
The role requires you to oversee all information systems for effective and secure operation, including ICT onboarding, offboarding, and employee variations and manage secure communication solutions and enhance business efficiency by advising on and re-engineering ICT processes with Department Heads.

  • Microsoft Azure: Strong expertise in managing, securing, and optimizing Azure environments, including IaaS, PaaS, networking, security services (Azure Security Center/Defender for Cloud), and identity management (Azure AD).

QUANTITY SURVEYOR (RAIL)

Rail bias Quantity Surveyor required to work with a well-established contractor on a 5-year maintenance contract with Network Rail.
They are the maintainer of a 14-mile-long section of test track, which is fit for purpose for the provision of services to test, trial and develop new railway technologies ranging from new rolling stock to infrastructure equipment, including the new fleet of trains designed for use as part of the Picadilly Line Upgrade.

They are responsible for maintenance activities across several disciplines, including but not limited to: Track, Signalling, HV Power and Vegetation. In addition to this maintenance, there is a large scope for Additional Service Requests (Variations) that they are requested to submit prices for and if successful, deliver, for a multitude of renewals projects required the across the test track. These are competitively tendered by Network Rail, so attention to detail and a collaborative working relationship with the Project Lead and disciplinary Delivery Managers is required, to ensure they are submitting accurate and competitive prices, with the aim of maximising their success in terms of securing additional works.

This is a hybrid role with 2 – 3 days in their Melton Mowbray office.

QUANTITY SURVEYOR / SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR

My client, a well-established main contractor seeks a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Stratford.
You will be working on their CP7, Eastern Routes Partnership (ERP) Framework for Network Rail’s Eastern Region.

As a Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the robust commercial management of various projects, ensuring successful delivery in compliance with contractual terms and business plan commitments. You will engage with supply chain partners, manage project costs, and monitor the commercial position to support informed decision-making.

 Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial and contractual performance of projects.
  • Ensure profit targets and efficiency savings are achieved.
  • Administer change control and manage risks and opportunities.

SITE ENGINEER

Site Engineer (Rail / PTS)

Site Engineer required to initially work on Station Upgrade works at Basilson Station.
As a Site Engineer, you will oversee the daily management of construction and civil engineering activities for rail infrastructure projects. The successful candidate must hold experience of heavy piling works associated with major civils schemes.  Typical works involve bridge reconstruction/replacement, upgrades and refurbishments, station work (platforms, access for all), and flood repair and alleviation.

Heavy piling experience and PTS (Personal track safety) are essential.

 Requirements

  • Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering.
  • Proven setting out experience with a strong understanding of surveying principles.
  • Ability to accurately interpret contract drawings and specifications.
  • Experience managing on-site dimensional control.
  • Supervision and management of labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors.
  • Experience in maintaining detailed progress and quality control records.
  • Prior experience in weekly planning for site work, including managing associated documentation like Inspection Test Plans and Work Package Plans.

Senior Quantity Surveyor

My client is a well-established main contractor who are looking for a permanent senior quantity surveyor to join their commercial team.  This role will be working on their Network Rail CP7 works which will run through to 2029.

These roles involve the commercial management of a portfolio of projects with an estimated annual value of £10 million. This framework includes maintenance and renewals of canopies, buildings, depots, platform structures, car parks, and subways.

You will ideally come from a rail background and have experience in NEC forms of contract.  The role will require 2 days from their offices and 3 days working remotely.

Are you experienced with schedules of rates and looking to bring your skills to a new industry? I am recruiting for a Measurement Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established Main Contractor and support the asset maintenance of clients within the Rail business.

This role focuses on Reactive Maintenance on the CP7 Framework focused on Asset Management of 100s of Network Rail Stations across the Kent, Sussex and Wessex routes, including London stations such as London Bridge and Waterloo.

Within the Commercial team you will focus primarily on Reactive Fault Measurement and report to the Senior QS, Measurement Team Manager.

Role overview

  • Produces measures for asset maintenance
  • Fast paced, high churn, desktop role
  • Role involves using schedules of rates and valuing the work, using worksheet, before/during/after photographs, to inform measurements.
  • Not a project QS role; no CVR, no applications for payment
  • Daily interactions with suppliers, and internal teams

This is an exciting opportunity for a Temporary Works Design Engineer / Manager to join the Southern Renewals Team. The project (CP7) will total 5+5 years of multiple individual schemes across Network Rail’s Southern Route (Kent, Sussex & Wessex).

You will manage the coordination for Temporary Works Design across several concurrent schemes at different stages – projects are split into Buildings, Structures and Earthworks & Drainage.

  • Technical qualification (example Degree in civil engineering or HND)
  • Proven technical organisational skills

HEAD OF COMMERCIAL

Job Summary:

As the Head of Commercial you will oversee and manage the estimating, cost, procurement and contractual aspects of the project from initiation to close-out for Euston Station (HS2) on the joint venture with Mace and Dragados.

Key responsibilities:

  • Advise the client and project team on all commercial issues effecting the project
  • Oversee the development of contractual terms and conditions for suppliers and sub- contractors and agree these with the client as necessary.
  • Develop and implement the procurement and contracting strategy for the delivery of the project
  • Review and develop incentivisation arrangements as appropriate
  • Agree spend profiles which match the project schedule with the client
  • Oversee the reporting against spend profiles for the project on a monthly basis and coordinate with the Client finance department for payments
  • Lead the development and maintenance of the Incentive Target for the project
  • Oversee the change management process, consult with other functions to assess changes and risks to the overall project out-turn
  • Manage the production of a monthly consolidated project-wide cost / expenditure report
  • Deliver capex and opex forecasts for the Project
  • Overview the procurement of services relating to the Project and ensure that the supply chain strategy, policy and procedures are implemented
  • Manage the administration of contracts for implementation of the project
  • Oversee the monthly valuation process

The role:

As the Commercial Manager you will oversee and manage the cost management and contract management aspects of a section of the project from initiation to close-out. This role is working on Curzon St Station.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee procurement and contract award for subcontractors and subconsultants
    Administer contractual terms and conditions for suppliers and sub-contractors
  • Manage and supervise commercial staff in the team
  • Administer incentivisation arrangements as appropriate
  • Oversee the assessment of EWN’s and compensation events
  • Provide regular cash flow forecast of expenditure
  • Report expenditure against the Incentive Target on a monthly basis
  • Manage the change management process consult with other functions to assess changes and risks to the overall project out-turn
  • Produce of a monthly consolidated project-wide cost / expenditure report
  • Manage the monthly valuation process.
  • Manage potential contractor and supplier claims.
  • Manage the adjudication of claims and make recommendations for settlement.
  • Oversee the finalisation of contractor’s accounts and close out contractor contracts for the project.
  • Manage the process to raise consultant, supplier or contractor instructions as necessary for signature by approved parties.
  • Manage the financial contingency built into packages and ensure that contingency allowances reflect the current programme position.

Project Manager

My client are looking for a Project Manager to work within their Maintenance side of the business, reporting into an Operations Manager.  The role will be working on projects they have with the company who manage and maintain the arches across the Network Rail network.


The Project Manager will look after multiple projects (likely 1-4) which have a value of between £10,000 – £1.5 million, the higher the value the less projects you would need to look after.  The Project Manager would have site managers and other subcontractors dependant on the project, the majority of these projects will be in the London area.

You will ideally have some rail experience, but if not, you should have general fit out background and any exposure to arch works would be advantageous.
You would need to have a good understanding and application of quality management and be happy with scheduling program of works.

This is a newly created role due to an increase in workload.
