SENIOR QNANTITY SURVEYOR

As the Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of Immingham Eastern Ro-Ro (Roll on – Roll off Terminal Project including all subcontract administration / cost and value reporting / assistance in main contract change management and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing Subcontract administration for the delivery of the works including design / site set-up / civils / marine works and building and MEP works
  • Contract management / administration of a number subcontracts (NEC4 Option A/C/E Subcontract) and design contracts (NEC4 PSC Contract Option A/C/E) ensuring compliance with the contract and management systems.
  • Manage and assess the monthly payment process for the aforementioned subcontract in accordance with the contractual timescales
  • Manage and co-ordinate with the package manager the change management process under the subcontracts including drafting of contractors instructions / reviewing NCEs and quotations for compensation events
  • Manage the projects main designer contract ensuring assistance is provided to the design team on cost information of design
  • Work with the estimating manager and specialist suppliers to review and update the construction stage estimate in accordance with the latest design
  • Produce monthly cost and value reporting including cash flow forecast and presentation to the senior management team
  • Registration, notification and evaluation of early warning procedures events.
  • Assist the Procurement Manager in commercial and financial aspects of contracts.
  • Provide contractual advice to the commercial, construction and engineering departments.
  • Report to the commercial manager on contractual aspects of the project
  • Ensure compliance with the contractual requirements of the projects
  • Costing of value engineering proposals and assisting in the assessment of changes to the accepted programme
  • Preparation of contractual correspondence and responding to communications from the project manager
  • Management of quantity surveying and assistant Quantity surveyors during the construction stage of the project
  • Assisting the commercial manager in educating the project team in the specific requirements of the NEC conditions of contract.

 

Qualifications, Certifications & Experience

The role will require the post holder to have excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal and to be able to report at management level.

  • Experience of working NEC 3 or 4 contract, and administering NEC 3 or Subcontract (Option A / B / C / E)
  • Experience working with for a Main Contractor on large Civil Engineering / infrastructure projects.
  • Good understanding of EU and UK legislative requirements affecting procurement.
  • Analytical mind and logical problem solving.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Committed to ethos of an accountable, cost effective, high quality, customer driven service delivery.
  • High degree of commercial awareness.
  • Computer skills – Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer
  • Holds a CSCS Card
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a numerate or commercial discipline
  • Member or Associate Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) or working towards.

Site Manager (Civils)

Due to the recent award of a section of works associated with Tideway, our client, a family owned business are seeking the services of a Site Manager to assist with a part of the project that includes Groundworks, Paving, Landscaping and Minor Build works.

Based from site offices in Bermondsey and reporting to the Project Manager, daily duties will include preparation of RAMs and Task Briefings, Overseeing Labour and Contractors on site, Health & Safety and Material Ordering.

To be considered, you MUST be an experienced Site Manager and hold CSCS, SMSTS and ideally First Aid to your name. You MUST also have experience in Groundworks and Paving works, this is essential.

In return, an immediate start is on offer along with a 1 year contract minimum which is Outside IR35 and comes with a top rate.

Freelance Project Quantity Surveyor

My client have been award the Airfield Operating Surfaces (AOS) Framework with projects taking place over the next 5 years, with projects varying in size from £20m to +£150m.

The airside infrastructure works comprise resurfacing, refurbishing and upgrading lighting systems, substation construction, concrete paving and drainage.

They are now starting the ECI phases for these projects with design and on site survey works.

This is a freelance role (inside IR35) and this will initially be a 6 month contract.

You will ideally come from a main contracting background with Airside Construction Experience, experience of MOD/DIO (Defence) projects and also have Security Clearance (SC).
