Senior Site Engineer & Site Engineer

My client requires both a Site Engineer and Senior Engineer to assist them on multiple projects around the Kent area. Ideal background will be Engineers with Highways and heavy civils experience.

  • Setting out using total stations, GPS equipment, and to be able to undertake traditional setting out using profiles, batter rail and pegs
  • Read and review construction drawings
  • Undertake basic take-off’s Raising technical queries with designers and other members of the client team
  • Undertake day to day setting out duties with no supervision
  • Train, manage and mentor Junior Engineers
  • Manage and monitor all site sample / performance testing requirements and maintain records in line with the contract specification.
  • Complete hazard / risk assessments and method statements.
  • Manage the site service plans/ drawings. Issue permits accordingly.
  • Assist the site QS / Project Manager with providing the relevant information for records and claims purposes.

The candidate will require previous civil engineering experience, particularly highways schemes working for a main contractor. Must also have a CSCS card in the appropriate discipline and have a BSc/ HND/ HNC qualification or equivalent. You will require a SSTS card. Due to the nature of the role a full UK driving license.

SITE ENGINEER

My client requires a Site Manager to assist them on their works in and around Surrey and Hampshire, Specifically Winchester, Redding and Woking.

  • Ensure all work complies with relevant H&S and environmental legislation and NRSWA specifications
  • Highlight non-conformities, escalating when required
  • Lead and manage your team and ensure they receive high quality training and mentoring, that supports their development, setting them up for success and enabling them to make their best contribution

BID MANAGER

My client are a leading international civil engineering company, specialising in complex market segments such as Transportation, Energy, Tunnelling, Building, Civil and Structural Engineering.

They are currently looking for a Bid Manager to their business and expand their Work Winning team with a skilled and enthusiastic Bid Manager to be based in their London Paddington Office.

 

As the Bid Manager you will drive and the bid team to achieve a successful outcome for each allocated tender, following designated processes and best practice in place within the organisation.

You will ensure that a coherent bid strategy in developed, working in conjunction with the Business Development Manager and Sector Director and continually evaluate winning strategy and direct team and resources to focus on activities which will enhance our chance of bid success.

The role will require you to agree bid budgets and monitor the expenditure with the Head of Management.

You will also be responsible for arranging and co-ordinating tender and post-tender meetings and interviews with the Client and Employers Agent.

SITE ENGINEER

This role will be based in Harefield; however, it will be on smaller value projects dotted around the Thames water region. Somone based around North London will be an ideal location

My client has an opportunity for a Site Engineer with at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Here are some of the activities you will be involved in…

  • Setting out of the detailed works as per drawings, ensuring checks are carried out on a regular basis
  • Assisting with task briefings
  • Checking Inspection Test Plans and that installation on site is correct according to specifications

  • Quality Control including populating inspection checklists and ITP’s

BID COORDINATOR

My client is an international civil engineering company, specialising in complex market segments such as Transportation, Energy, Tunnelling, Building, Civil and Structural Engineering.

They are looking to expand their Work Winning team with a skilled and enthusiastic Bid Coordinator to be based in their London Paddington Office.

The role will require you to assist the Head of Submissions and Bid Managers with the preparation and production of PQQ and Tender submissions in line with agreed deadlines.

You will ensure that all tender documentation is presented to a uniformly high standard, editing and proofreading submission documents, as well as deputising for the document controller and other administrative duties as required.

The role will also require you to have the ability to prepare graphics such as flow charts and organisation charts is also required to support high standard submissions.

You must maintain, organise and collate documents and supporting information for each proposal and create the final publication and with the team, ensuring the bid is delivered to the Client on time.

 

About you

Within this role, you will be required to have a background or previous experience in Administration and have a technical knowledge of civil engineering/construction.

You will have strong organisational and communication skills and demonstrate a high level of competence in written English. IT competence is also required to ensure correct maintenance of our internal document management system, Themis.

You must be able to work collaboratively, setting and acting upon clear and realistic goals and objectives. The ability to use your own initiative, question assumptions and learn from and share experiences is also essential for this role.

You will have strong analysis skills, with demonstrable experience of making sound decisions, that have been informed by experience and data intelligence along with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise.

Due to my clients continued expansion, they are seeking a Senior Estimator to join their dynamic team. As a Senior Estimator, you will work on civil engineering tenders, developing precise and competitive estimates for projects involving roads, sewers, drainage, utilities, and reinforced concrete structures.

Here are some of the activities you will be involved with:

  • Review tender requirements, focusing on scope of works, attending site visits and collaborating with the Bid and Operational Support Teams, coordinating with Estimating Buyer on material costs and subcontractor quotes.
  • Support the Apprentice Estimators in preparing and comparing detailed subcontractor pricing packages.
  • Submit technical queries to clients for tender clarity and review client pricing schedules to ensure alignment with scope.
  • Conduct take-offs as needed for Bill of Quantities or Activity Schedules.
  • Prepare estimates for in-house work and assess subcontractor quotes for specialist tasks
  • Draft bid assumptions, qualifications, and exclusions and identify project risks, compile risk register, and review utility and geotechnical data.
  • Finalise and include pricing documents (e.g., Schedule of Costs, Daywork Rates).
  • Attend post-tender meetings, respond to pricing queries, and track submission updates.

Tunnel Engineer (Shift)

Tunnelling Site/Shift Engineers

My client are seeking multiple Tunnelling Site / Shift Engineers on their Snowdonia Visual Improvement Tunnel project in North Wales.  The project is due to operate a 2-shift pattern and a shift premium will apply.

The project will consider candidates with different levels of experience and you do not have to have tunnelling experience but this is desirable.

You will be involved in the development of work plans, temporary work conception, manage and optimise the construction of TBM-driven tunnels from installation to demobilisation. To ensure health and safety is given the highest priority in the delivery of the works.

It will be essential that you have an Engineering Degree/Higher National Certificate (HNC) or similar in a construction discipline. You will also have substantial experience with onsite experience within the Civil Construction Industry.

On top of the salary being offered, you will receive a Company Car/Car Allowance + shift premium, accommodation allowance and living allowance.
