You will have strong analysis skills, with demonstrable experience of making sound decisions, that have been informed by experience and data intelligence along with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise.

An experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a high level of commercial awareness and understanding, with the ability to analyse problems and offer solutions.
Proven experience in compiling complex subcontract orders including the allocation of risk and supporting the operational team. Along with demonstrated experience of NEC and the management of change.
Inspiring, influential, and charismatic communication skills with experience in effectively landing key messages, and problem-solving skills are a given, as is having exceptional Excel skills
A degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or significant experience in similar position is essential.

- Lead and manage complex civil engineering projects within the Defence and Strategic markets, from initiation through to completion.

SENIOR ESTIMATOR
Senior Estimator
Due to my clients continued expansion, they are seeking a Senior Estimator to join their dynamic team. As a Senior Estimator, you will work on civil engineering tenders, developing precise and competitive estimates for projects involving roads, sewers, drainage, utilities, and reinforced concrete structures.
Here are some of the activities you will be involved with:
- Review tender requirements, focusing on scope of works, attending site visits and collaborating with the Bid and Operational Support Teams, coordinating with Estimating Buyer on material costs and subcontractor quotes.
- Support the Apprentice Estimators in preparing and comparing detailed subcontractor pricing packages.
- Submit technical queries to clients for tender clarity and review client pricing schedules to ensure alignment with scope.
- Conduct take-offs as needed for Bill of Quantities or Activity Schedules.
- Prepare estimates for in-house work and assess subcontractor quotes for specialist tasks
- Draft bid assumptions, qualifications, and exclusions and identify project risks, compile risk register, and review utility and geotechnical data.
- Finalise and include pricing documents (e.g., Schedule of Costs, Daywork Rates).
- Attend post-tender meetings, respond to pricing queries, and track submission updates.
- Prepare pricing handover file and brief Operations Team on tender details.

Expertise in civil engineering projects, with a focus on self-delivery works such as earthworks, roadworks, kerbing, footpaths, sewers, drainage, pipeline construction, and utility installations. Proficiency in Excel and experience using pricing software such as Conquest, Causeway, Candy, or similar.
Familiarity with key contract terms and conditions, including NEC 4 and JCT ICE, as well as an understanding of measurement methods, particularly regarding rate inclusions.

My client are seeking multiple Tunnelling Site / Shift Engineers on their Snowdonia Visual Improvement Tunnel project in North Wales. The project is due to operate a 2-shift pattern and a shift premium will apply.
The project will consider candidates with different levels of experience and you do not have to have tunnelling experience but this is desirable.
You will be involved in the development of work plans, temporary work conception, manage and optimise the construction of TBM-driven tunnels from installation to demobilisation. To ensure health and safety is given the highest priority in the delivery of the works.
It will be essential that you have an Engineering Degree/Higher National Certificate (HNC) or similar in a construction discipline. You will also have substantial experience with onsite experience within the Civil Construction Industry.

My client are a leading international civil engineering company, specialising in complex market segments such as Transportation, Energy, Tunnelling, Building, Civil and Structural Engineering.
About the role
My client are looking to expand their team with skilled and enthusiastic individuals to deliver a tunnelling project in the beautiful region of Snowdonia, North Wales. Their work will significantly enhance the visual impact of the area, burying a network of overhead cables and removing several pylons to restore and protect the natural beauty, wildlife and environmental heritage of this precious landscape.
The project requires an on-site Human Resources Advisor to adopt the first line contact and support for all project resources on HR and employee relations matters. You will be required to advise, support, influence and where appropriate, challenge managers on operational decisions to facilitate their following of HR best practice in activities including: recruitment, disciplinary, grievance, induction and training. You will take the lead on championing Equality, Diversity and Respect on the project and will have experience in working in a single site HR Advisor role or a small cluster role.
About you
You should be qualified to at least a Level 3 CIPD qualification and be able to demonstrate a proven track record in managing a wide variety of HR related issues. You must be confident in building strong credible relationships with managers, acting as a mentor when advising on all people issues, plans and strategies where appropriate.
Previous experience of working in a Civil Engineering/Tunnelling organisation is desirable but not essential.

SENIOR QNANTITY SURVEYOR
As the Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of Immingham Eastern Ro-Ro (Roll on – Roll off Terminal Project including all subcontract administration / cost and value reporting / assistance in main contract change management and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing Subcontract administration for the delivery of the works including design / site set-up / civils / marine works and building and MEP works
- Contract management / administration of a number subcontracts (NEC4 Option A/C/E Subcontract) and design contracts (NEC4 PSC Contract Option A/C/E) ensuring compliance with the contract and management systems.
- Manage and assess the monthly payment process for the aforementioned subcontract in accordance with the contractual timescales
- Manage and co-ordinate with the package manager the change management process under the subcontracts including drafting of contractors instructions / reviewing NCEs and quotations for compensation events
- Manage the projects main designer contract ensuring assistance is provided to the design team on cost information of design
- Work with the estimating manager and specialist suppliers to review and update the construction stage estimate in accordance with the latest design
- Produce monthly cost and value reporting including cash flow forecast and presentation to the senior management team
- Registration, notification and evaluation of early warning procedures events.
- Assist the Procurement Manager in commercial and financial aspects of contracts.
- Provide contractual advice to the commercial, construction and engineering departments.
- Report to the commercial manager on contractual aspects of the project
- Ensure compliance with the contractual requirements of the projects
- Costing of value engineering proposals and assisting in the assessment of changes to the accepted programme

Qualifications, Certifications & Experience
The role will require the post holder to have excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal and to be able to report at management level.

- Experience working with for a Main Contractor on large Civil Engineering / infrastructure projects.
- Good understanding of EU and UK legislative requirements affecting procurement.

MEP QUANTITY SURVEYOR
As the MEP Quantity Surveyor you will manage the cost and contract management aspects of MEP work packages within the project from initiation to close-out.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer contractual terms and conditions for suppliers and sub- contractors
- Administer incentivisation arrangements as appropriate
- Support the assessment of EWN’s and compensation events
- Provide regular cash flow forecast of expenditure for package
- Report expenditure against the package budget on a monthly basis
- Support the change management process in conjunction with other functions
- Input to the monthly consolidated project-wide cost / expenditure report
- Assess potential contractor and supplier claims and make recommendations for settlement.
- Finalise contractor’s accounts and close out contracts for the project.
- Raising consultant, supplier or contractor instructions as necessary for signature by approved parties.
- Report on the expenditure of financial contingency built into the relevant packages.
- Provide schedules of rates and commercial input to tender documentation
- Undertake cost analysis of bid returns
- Assist the package project manager in resolving all financial commercial issues arising in the tender return
- Support the negotiation of two stage fixed price for relevant tenders
- Receive and review monthly valuations from contractors and prepare recommendation for signature by the project manager and designer
- Review all instructions issued by the project manager for cost implications
- Support the change control process and assist in identifying the cost implications of any proposed changes
- Support the project manager in the resolution of any claims and disputes as may arise with the contractor
Qualifications, Certifications & Experience
- Relevant experience of commercial management of MEP packages in medium or bi.

TBM / Site Activities
Management and compliance with TBM related issues such as TBM guidance, ring selection, face pressure, among other activities to ensure TBM operating requirements are adhered to.
Detailed knowledge and understanding of the Permit to Tunnel and Daily Briefing and ensure any actions, controls or findings are implemented and followed accordingly by operators and supervision
Observation of ground conditions, monitoring and review of material in the STP and noting any changes, significant or otherwise, and communicate to Sub-Agent/Agent and capture on shift report.
Assist the Sub-Agent in co-ordination of crane activities including TBM assembly, launch and disassembly in conjunction with Lift Supervisors and Lifting Coordinators.
Be conversant with all drawings, specification and related information for the works under their control, asking for advice when unsure and speaking up when not complying.
