Sub Agent
I have been given a freelance Sub Agent role by one of my top clients who are working on £370m Tunnelling scheme in Snowdonia which I am sure you will know about.
They have a section of works to Construct Workers Accommodation including Roads, Drainage, Service Installation and Construction of the actual Accommodation and require a Sub Agent to oversee these works.
Duties include:
- Preparation of RAMs
- Overseeing Sub Contractors,
- Material Ordering,
- Reporting etc.
This is for 6-9 months initially and will likely lead on to further works with the project running until 2029.
Rate is circa £400-425 Per Day and is Outside IR35.

Quantity Surveyor
My client has been awarded a GBP 207 million (EUR 240 million) power supply tunnel project by National Grid in Wales. The project is part of the Visual Impact Provision project in the Snowdonia National Park near Porthmadog in the north of the country.
This seven-year project will see the construction of two shafts and 3.4 kilometres tunnel to carry electricity under the Dwyryd Estuary. The project has been developed to reduce the visual impact of National Grid’s overhead line across the estuary. The project will run into 2029.
My client would like a QS with a couple of years experience, preferably project-based experience with CSCS card.
Purpose of the role
To take supervised responsibility for the commercial function on the project or section of project.
To contribute to a result as agreed with local commercial management.
To protect the company’s position throughout 360 degree relationships.
To carry out commercial tasks and present results in an orderly and accurate format.
Role and accountabilities
Develop commercial skills to proactively contribute to the commercial success of the business.
Prepare stand alone sections of applications and reports.
Review incoming accounts and correspondence and react accordingly.
Manage specified subcontract accounts and support senior commercial staff in negotiations.
Agree a personal development plan to deliver the objectives.
Contribute to the development of subordinates.
Design Engineer (Third Party Interfaces)

Purpose of the role
To manage client, third party organisation and design consultant interface activities and deliverables to ensure they are completed in line with the agreed programme and Project requirements. This includes multiple interfaces associated with tunnel design and construction under road, rail, utilities and property.
To be the technical and procedures lead on the project for third party interfaces unless an Engineering/Design Manager is present.
Ensure both input and output deliverables for the design are tracked and reported to the Project/Engineering Manager as required.
Coordination with Public Relations Manager and Environment/Consents Manager regarding stakeholder consultation and consents.
Role Accountabilities
Manage the 3rd Parties Technical Approvals process. Assigning actions and follow up on responses.
Manage and communicate all 3rd Parties technical queries, comments and information required from interface meetings and keep records.
Raise technical queries, requests for further information internally and externally from the whole project team.
Support the Design manager to ensure timely delivery of all design deliverables as design programmes.
Manage and update the 3rd party design deliverable schedule.
Review Designers Monthly reports and produce monthly reports on design cost, progress and any other design specific elements.
Review all 3rd party design deliverables and ensure that they are completed to the expected standard. Challenge and resolve when not, including reviewing of all drawing in line with the Clients Scope/requirements.
Attend interface meeting with external parties and assign/follow up on actions related to the Design.
Arrange internal design interface meetings with construction department.
Ensure compliance with design management processes required by the contract.
Collaborate with the engagement of external suppliers/subcontractors.
Manage provision of documents, drawings and output from 3rd party process to client, 3rd parties, consultants/designers and the project team – document control.
Assist with managing the Survey & Monitoring requirements for the project including reporting.
Assist with land access and stakeholder engagement teams.
Site Manager (Swansea)
Due to an increase in workload within their Rail sector, our client, a highly reputable Regional Main Contractor are seeking to secure the services of 2 Site Managers to support these works which include Embankment Stabilisations, Bridge Replacements, Station Upgrade works and Lineside Civils.
Daily duties will include preparation of Site Paperwork, Issuing Task Briefings, Health & Safety, Overseeing Contractors on site and attending regular progress meetings with Senior Management and Stakeholders.
To be considered you will have SMSTS, PTS and First Aid and have solid Rail experience gained within the Main Contracting environment and within the above areas.
