I’m assisting one of my clients who are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their business.  They are a leading international civil engineering company, specialising in Transportation, Energy, Tunnelling, Building, Civil and Structural Engineering project throughout the UK

The role
If you are an experienced Business Development Manager within the Civil Engineering sector.

You will be experienced in establishing and maintaining regular dialogue with new and existing customers and identify, assess and cultivate new client leads/opportunities that fit with the overall business strategy and market sectors to enable the company to grow in line with the business plan.

You will also lead on sector pipeline meetings, prepare and distribute suitable minutes / actions to discuss current and future opportunities.

The role may require you to travel to various project sites and have flexibility to work extended hours as needed. The primary locations for this role will be either Swindon or London.

 About you
It is essential that you have sound knowledge of the UK construction market and of relevant and up to date procurement legislation along with strong knowledge of Civil Engineering.

You should have exceptional presentation and client communication skills and be able to maintain industry/competitor intelligence; attend CECA meetings and others as appropriate.

Site Agent x 2

Due to up and coming projects within their Water sector, our client, a rapidly expanding Civil Engineering and Utilities Contractor are seeking to secure the services of Site Agents to support Water contracts in Cornwall.

Projects include installation/refurbishment and renewal of pipelines, sewers and pumping stations with works ranging from £500k up to £5m in value.

Daily duties will include Site Set Up, RAMs, Task Briefings, Ordering Plant & Materials, Reporting and attending regular meetings with Senior Management and Stakeholders.

To be considered for these roles, you will hold a minimum of an HNC in Civil Engineering and hold SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certification to your name. You will have Civil Engineering experience to your name and ideally Water also gained within the Main Contracting environment.

In return, a top day rate is on offer which is Outside IR35 and comes with a long term contract as this is part of a new framework.

Construction Manager

A freelance Construction Manager is required to work on a large stately development £50M project close to Kidderminster – the estate is approx. 700 acres – and the project will consist of new build works – infrastructure – landscaping and restoration of listed buildings. The role is working for the Main Contractor on the project.

Construction Managers seeking to apply will ideally be professionally qualified (MCIOB or Degree) and have 10 years relevant experience, ideally with high end residential work and Listed Buildings. Construction Managers who apply will ideally be capable of working independently but in close conjunction with the onsite Professional Team that includes 4 x Production and 3 Commercial members. An understanding of the Construction Management process and the JCT CMA & TC would be an advantage when applying.

In addition my client requires ;

  • CSCS card holder
  • 1st Aid qualified
  • SMSTS qualified

Ideally appointed Construction Manager will supply own mobile and lap top.

Senior Quantity Surveyor – Outside IR35

A Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor is required for a £70m private Stately Home development close to Wiltshire – the development consists of refurbishment works and new builds , the appointed QS will be joining an existing Commercial site team.

Quantity Surveyors seeking to apply will have a contracting background, and ideally some CM experience although the CM experience is not essential to apply. 5 years site experience would be advantageous. Listed building and refurbishment works experience is highly sought after.

My client can offer a long-term role – the project has over 2 years left to run.
