The role

As a Site Engineer you must have at least two years project delivery experience within the Civil Infrastructure project delivery and not necessarily from a tunnelling project.

To provide engineering and quality control for construction works including maintaining appropriate records and to support and assist others as required ensuring the project site remains compliant with requirements in all aspects.

The role

Candidate MUST have a​ civils infrastructure project delivery experience and not necessarily from a tunnelling project.

You will lead the construction team within area of responsibility and to be responsible for all aspects of the works, including compliance with legal, company and project requirements. You will manage area of responsibility to achieve project commercial and programme requirements.

You will also coordinate area of responsibility with other project areas and manage junior staff.

Review weekly plant, labour and material returns to identify areas of variance from planned usage. Provide reports to line management identifying the reasons for the variance, including action plans to reduce wastage and improve positive variance.

In conjunction with General Foreman, actively review requirements for all plant and equipment within area of responsibility to support compliance with programme and commercial requirements.

Manage all subcontractors within area of responsibility to ensure compliance with project requirements. Chair and produce minutes for weekly meetings with each subcontractor.

Maintain a detailed knowledge of subcontractors’ scopes of work. Maintain a detailed knowledge and records of site progress, including details of any potential variations. In conjunction with commercial team, critically assess subcontractor records, applications for payment and variations.

Manage all works, including subcontractors, within area of responsibility to ensure compliance with all legal, company and project health, safety and environmental requirements.

Ensure all required documentation is fully approved and in place prior to any works commencing within area of responsibility. Ensure that works within area of responsibility are managed and constructed in accordance with the latest revisions of all relevant information and documents.

Surveying & Monitoring Manager

The role

Responsible for the overall project requirements in geodetic surveying and deformation monitoring. Oversee planning, evaluation, monitoring and surveying of Snowdonia VIP, ensuring compliance with contractual, legal requirements and industry standards.

As the Survey & Monitoring Manager you will report to the Tunnel Operations Manager.  This is a very tunnelling specific role and with the support of Surveying Engineers will be responsible for the surveying and deformation monitoring works on the surface, in shafts and in the tunnel.  You will ideally have a Surveying Engineering degree and probably minimum 5 years’ experience as a Survey Engineer.

Qantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor

The role

You will be expected to take supervised responsibility for the commercial function on a project or section of a project and to contribute to a result as agreed with local commercial management.

You will also work to protect the company’s position throughout 360 degree relationships to carry out commercial tasks and present results in an orderly and accurate format.

You will prepare applications and reports, review incoming accounts and correspondence and react accordingly, manage specified subcontract accounts and support senior commercial staff in negotiations, agree a personal development plan and deliver the objectives and also contribute to the development of subordinates

High Voltage Engineer

The role

Candidates with have previous National Grid-related project experience to manage a large subcontractor that is responsible for the cabling in the tunnel.  The candidate will manage the design of the HV system and following completion of the design act as project manager for the cable installations and the works we are required to do in the substations.

To lead and manage the High Voltage (HV) Cable and HV Plant subcontractors ( in delivering the works and ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements.

To manage the HV designer and sub contractor design activities and deliverables to ensure they are completed in line with the agreed programme and Project requirements.

To be the technical lead for the HV works on the project

Ensure both input and output deliverables for the design are tracked and reported to the Project Director and Engineering Manager as required.

To manage the MEP designer and sub contractor design activities and deliverables to ensure they are completed in line with the agreed programme and Project requirements.

Permanent Works Design Manager

The role

As the Permanent Works Design Manager you will manage external designers and the small internal design, BIM and CAD team.  Candidates will have significant civil infrastructure project experience and extensive tunnelling design experience from previous tunnelling projects. The role reports to the Engineering & Risk Manager for the project.

Site Engineer-Snowdonia

Our client a major player in the Civil Engineering sector still have an immediate need for a Site Engineer to support works on a major Tunnelling scheme in North Wales.

Works are valued at over £300m and include Shaft Sinking and associated Civils works that come with the Tunnelling works.
Daily duties will include Setting Out, QA, Overseeing Sub Contractors and production of Daily Reports.

To be considered, you will have a minimum of an HNC in Civil Engineering and hold CSCS certification to your name. All round Civil Engineering experience is required and gained with Main Contractors.

In return, a top day rate is on offer which is Outside IR35, an Immediate start and ongoing contract comes with it also.

Quantity Surveyor-North Wales to £50K + Car + Bens + Lodge

Our client, a world renowned Principle Contractor are seeking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor for a prestigious Tunnelling and Civils scheme in North Wales. Works involve Tunnelling to house National Grid Power Cables and associated Civils works with the project valued at over £350m.  Based from site offices, daily duties will include managing sub contractor accounts, cost reporting, issuing payments, variations and attending regular Commercial meetings.

To be considered you will have a minimum of an HNC in Quantity Surveying and have 2-5 years experience gained within the Civil Engineering sector and gained within the Main Contracting environment.

This comes with an excellent salary and benefits with lodge paid if required.

This is also office based with minimal home working on offer.
