I have been given an excellent long term freelance Senior Estimator role for a major client of ours who are tendering on major Data Centre Construction works around the UK. Their aspects include the Civils and Build works with also Modular Buildings with the MEP Estimating put through their sister company so none required on this side.

They require an experienced Senior Estimator who has Civil Engineering and Build experience gained with Principle Contractors and who has solid experience in CANDY software.

This role is 3 days in Central London and 2 from home and comes with an excellent rate of £600.00 Per Day OUTSIDE IR35 and contract for circa 12-18 months so a great long term role!

SENIOR ESTIMATOR

Senior Estimator

Due to my clients continued expansion, they are seeking a Senior Estimator to join their dynamic team. As a Senior Estimator, you will work on civil engineering tenders, developing precise and competitive estimates for projects involving roads, sewers, drainage, utilities, and reinforced concrete structures.

Here are some of the activities you will be involved with:

  • Review tender requirements, focusing on scope of works, attending site visits and collaborating with the Bid and Operational Support Teams, coordinating with Estimating Buyer on material costs and subcontractor quotes.
  • Support the Apprentice Estimators in preparing and comparing detailed subcontractor pricing packages.
  • Submit technical queries to clients for tender clarity and review client pricing schedules to ensure alignment with scope.
  • Conduct take-offs as needed for Bill of Quantities or Activity Schedules.
  • Prepare estimates for in-house work and assess subcontractor quotes for specialist tasks
  • Draft bid assumptions, qualifications, and exclusions and identify project risks, compile risk register, and review utility and geotechnical data.
  • Finalise and include pricing documents (e.g., Schedule of Costs, Daywork Rates).
  • Attend post-tender meetings, respond to pricing queries, and track submission updates.
  • Prepare pricing handover file and brief Operations Team on tender details.

We are keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

Expertise in civil engineering projects, with a focus on self-delivery works such as earthworks, roadworks, kerbing, footpaths, sewers, drainage, pipeline construction, and utility installations. Proficiency in Excel and experience using pricing software such as Conquest, Causeway, Candy, or similar.
Familiarity with key contract terms and conditions, including NEC 4 and JCT ICE, as well as an understanding of measurement methods, particularly regarding rate inclusions.

COMMERCIAL MANAGER

Due to the recent award of a number of Rail contracts in the East Anglia and Southern Regions, our client, a top Main Contractor within the Rail sector has an immediate need for a Commercial Manager to join their expanding team.

Projects are valued anywhere from £1m up to £20m in value and include Station Upgrades, Platform Extensions and Bridge Replacements.

SITE ENGINEER

Our client, a highly reputable Sub Contractor are undertaking major works on Thames Tideway which involves Public Realm works with specific aspects including Paving, Drainage, Street Furniture, Minor Buildings and Landscaping works.

They seek a Site Engineer to support these works with daily duties including Setting Out, QA and assisting the Site Manager with overseeing labour and Contractors on site.

To be considered for this, you will have a minimum of an HNC in Civil Engineering and have CSCS and ideally SMSTS certification to your name. In an ideal world you will also be Tideway inducted, however this is not essential and this induction can be provided.

PLANT CONTROLLER

Our client, an award winning family owned Main Contractor have the need for a Plant Hire Controller to join their team based from their Head Office in West London.

Duties will include raising requisitions and allocating Plant for varying sites they work on including HS2, Thames Water, Highways works etc. Should the relevant Plant not be available, you will be required to go to Outside Suppliers to source this for the sites ready for when required. Other duties will include filling in allocation sheets, uploading information to their internal system and regularly checking in with sites re Plant requirements.

To be considered for this role you will have worked within this area and have an understanding of Plant allocation and Hire. You will be IT literate and have good interpersonal skills.

TECHNICAL SERVICES MANAGER

A well-established Main Contractor who specialise in Commercial Office Cat A & B Fit out and refurb projects ranging from £2 – 20mill in value are searching for a Technical Services Manager with a minimum of 2years’ experience working with a Main Contractor on Fit out and Refurbprojects.

  • Attend meetings with the Client, the designers, specialist contractors and other team Contribute to the regular Project Report, and attend Project
  • Review designers and contractors’ drawings for completeness of information and compliance with contract requirements (specification, ER, etc).
  • Check ongoing installation for compliance with contract requirements (specification, drawings etc.)
  • Provide assistance in planning and executing the building services commissioning.
  • Assist with the delivery of the building services works or the elements there off on the project. and liaise with sub-contractors. Specialists and Consultants. as appropriate.
  • Assist in the production of monthly Services Status Reports on their projects or provide information to support the overall project.
